The situation on the ground in Haiti is challenging, but we are working hard to address issues & build capacity while continuing to empower, support, and advocate for the children, families, and communities who need us most.

Despite political unrest and lockdowns, we’ve been making progress, while still finding time to celebrate our accomplishments.

Despite new and complex situations arising, the exceptional Little Footprints Big Steps team continues with the vital work underway – sometimes pivoting and revising details and focal points - but maintaining the progress forward!

Although COVID-19 hasn't had the horrific impact in Haiti as anticipated, our preventative efforts definitely haven't gone to waste!

Responding to the realities of life in Haiti – the extreme poverty, malnutrition, lack of opportunity for education and medical care, slavery, homelessness – has become more complex with COVID19 and continued escalation of inflation.

It’s important to note that deinstitutionalisation is more than simply closing orphanages; it includes finding family and community solutions to problems – and this is what your support continues to allow LFBS to do.

Amidst heartbreaking destruction and frustration, there were also examples of selfless heroes risking their lives to help others during the current prolonged unrest… This is the beauty, the strength, the incredible sense of community that is in Haitians.
