Little Footprints Big Steps (LFBS) is developing a permanent, earthquake-resistant child protection and family support facility in Southern Haiti. This project represents an important investment in LFBS’ ability to support vulnerable children and families through family reunification, counselling, outreach, prevention programming, business opportunities and community-based child protection services.

Little Footprints Big Steps envisions a future where vulnerable children in Haiti can grow up safely within families and communities that are supported, resilient, and empowered. This project represents an important step toward that future through the creation of a permanent, earthquake-resistant home for LFBS’ child protection and family strengthening work in Southern Haiti.
For more than 15 years, LFBS has operated from temporary and rented spaces while supporting children and families through reunification, counselling, education support, healthcare assistance, income generating opportunities, and housing support. As the needs of vulnerable families continue to grow, so does the need for a stable, safe, and sustainable space where this work can continue and expand.
The vision for this project is to create more than an office building. The new facility will serve as a long-term hub for child protection, family support, counselling, collaboration, and community engagement. Designed with both safety and dignity in mind, the space will include dedicated counselling rooms, family support areas, meeting and training spaces, secure storage for outreach and emergency supplies, and operational areas that allow staff to work more effectively and consistently.
By establishing a permanent presence on land already owned and partially developed by LFBS, the organization will be able to strengthen partnerships with local authorities and community leaders, improve the quality and accessibility of services, reduce long-term operational costs, and expand its reach to support more vulnerable children and families.
